A message from

Ann Moran-Smith, Executive Director of Smith Haven Ministries

Dear Friends,

Smith Haven Ministries, first called The Nesconset Experimental Ministries when created in 1967, has proved that the experiment was indeed a success!

As our early name implied, our founders fashioned a model where churches, temples, and community residents would work together to build a future of hope and promise for children, adults, and families in need.  Our mission then, as now, was to fill the void where human services was concerned and to help families right here in Suffolk County.  Through the years and through our partnerships with local churches, temples, organizations, individuals, government, and you, we have been honored to provide caring and dignified help to more than half-a-million of our neighbors in need.  Throughout our year in Nesconset, more than a decade at the Smith Haven Mall, and over the past 33 years here in Coram, not only have we seen the experiment succeed, we have also been a model for many other interfaith ministries across the United States.

Now we are honored to present you with this Annual Report of our work.  In 2010 The Ministries has:

Proud of our past, we look forward to our future.  During this coming year, our staff and volunteer will continue to work to provide essential services while our Board of Governors will focus on increasing resources to support our programs.

Please join us in this important and joyful work.

Ann Moran-Smith, MPS
